About

After 27 years of blindly consuming processed foods, dairy, alcohol, sugar, wheat, grains, and suffering from constant allergies & skin issues throughout my life, I had come to realise that it simply was not working anymore. In other words, your typical supermarket foods just weren't cutting the mustard in terms of nutrition and healing qualities.

I have come to realise that one's body is a temple. You only get one body, and if you read the "why raw?" section of the blog, you'll realise that we need enzymes in order for our organs & cells to function properly. These only come from vegetables & fruit.  You won't find them in packaged foods or processed foods.

And if these amazing nutrients only come from vegetables and fruit, I had to stop and ask myself why am I eating all this other so called 'food'?

Consuming mountains of sugar, preservatives, refined fibers, colours and artifical ingredients, only serve as toxins to my lymphatic system, blood, and organs. When this happens, a person's liver and kidney has to work harder, your adrenals are overburdened, your gut flora is unbalanced, your body is acidic rather than alkaline, and everything snowballs from there on in, resulting in fatigue, colds, flu's, leaky gut syndrome, illnesses & disease, intolerances, allergies, digestive problems, headaches, cancer, you name it. Makes sense doesn't it?

Which is why I've slowly been moving towards whole, fresh, nutritious, "real" food. It's a hard change to make when you're used to practically nothing but packaged & processed foods, but a very empowering and exciting one! And thanks to the internet, you're never short of accessing amaaaazing, delicious recipes and like minded people to be inspired by.

Since eating a mostly raw diet, I find that I have more energy, my mind is clearer and sharper, I'm happier, healthier, and I have developed a new love for experimenting with food. Along the way I've come to know and appreciate the healing power of nature and "living foods" at a profound and deep level. I've naturally become even more of a conscious & self aware person, and have developed a new found respect for my body & soul.

I'm grateful for the life I lead, and for the part I play in this miraculous universe. I'm grateful for the opportunity to expand and grow, and to be as healthy as I can be! Sunshine, yoga, meditation, music, friends and family all make me a very happy person :)

Hopefully this blog can show you that you don't have to miss out on yummy tasting foods by having a diet consisting of mainly vegetables, fruits, nuts, and fish. You can create some awesomely delicious meals and snacks that'll keep you healthy, energised and happy! ;-)
